Meet Ethel

We bought season passes to SeaWorld and have been going a couple times a week since we moved. One night we were waiting for the Sea Lion and Otter show to start and a couple of the trainers brought out Ethel the Otter for Isabel to meet and pet! They brought her out just for Iz, no one else in the audience got to meet her, well except for Francisco, Cori and I:) It put the biggest smile on my face knowing that these two people saw Isabel and wanted to do something special for her. Izzy loved it so much that she cried when the show was over and we had to leave!
P.S. Ethel was soooo soft!

Goodbye Yuma

We have a tradition of taking a family pic in front of our old house before we move. I can't believe how much our family has changed since we moved to Yuma 3 years ago. Isabel grew so much and we added a whole new little person! We enjoyed our house in Yuma and living there served its purpose of getting us closer to our family, but we were ready to move on. We are loving San Diego and are fully taking advantage of all the fun things to do! Lots more posts to come :)

3 years ago today.....

(on my birthday) I sent my little 6 month old baby off for a surgery that would change her life (and ours) forever. If she had not had this surgery there's a very good chance she would not be here with us today. We really had no idea what we were getting into, what our lives would be like after, all we knew was that this was God's plan for her and that he would take care of her, and he has. There was no way we could look at that beautiful smiling face and think we were making the wrong decision. Some people might question her quality of life, we don't. She is happy, she is taken care of, most importantly she is loved.
3 years later, we have a beautiful little girl. She has done better than we expected and we have been blessed to have so much time with her, at home and relatively healthy. We are grateful for every day we have with her and can't imagine our lives with out her. There is no better birthday present than having my little girl here with me.

Oh what a night....

Our power went out tonight at about 7pm.....bedtime (for the girls). Now keep in mind that we (and when I say we I mean Isabel) REALLY need power. Besides all of her very important medical equipment that needs to be plugged in and used 24/7, that girl cannot live without ac and her fan! So after about 30 minutes we loaded up into the big van where we can power all her equipment and went to get ice cream. We tried to put it off as long as we could, but we had tired girls and couldn't stay in the van all night so we broke down and got a $120 hotel room (thanks to my dad who is visiting!). We trekked up to our room and started unloading Isabel onto the bed and guess what.........Francisco called to say our power at home was back on! We weren't about to waste a $120 room (why in the world would a hotel in Yuma be so expensive? Who comes here for vacation??) so we decided to stay and have a little sleepover. Isabel was excited. So I went back home to pick up the rest of Isabel's essential items for an overnight trip which barely fit into a GIANT suitcase and drove back to the hotel, got Isabel situated and ready for bed, got a mean phone call from our downstairs neighbors who did not like hearing little footsteps, tried to force Cori to lay down and go to bed (she hates sleeping anywhere but her own bed), listened to her scream for a few minutes, gave up and brought her home. Now she is sleeping peacefully and I am waiting for Francisco to get home from work at midnight (oh yes, he was at work this whole time, lucky guy) and then I will head back to the sleepover. At least Isabel had fun jumping on the bed with Aunt Niki. She wasn't supposed to tell me, but she did, because she is a good girl :)

They grow up sooo fast....

My little brother (ok, so he's not so little anymore) is engaged!Bradley and KK have been together almost as long as Francisco and I, that's a pretty long time! And they are finally engaged. We love KK and are glad she will officially be our sister-in-law and the girls' aunt. Congrats to the future Mr. and Mrs. Walker :)

Looking for a good dog....or 2??

Sugar - she is a lab/boxer mix. She loves to eat and cuddle up on anything soft.
Hunny- Lab/german shepard mix. She is a sweetie who will follow you wherever you go!

Unfortunately we probably won't be able to take our dogs to San Diego with us, most of the housing on base there does not allow pets......so we are hoping to find them a good home before we go. They are both lab mixes and are 100% house broken. They love to play outside and have a great time entertaining each other. They are both fixed and are about 4 years old. No, they are not twins or even sisters, but they do look alot alike. If you want a couple of friendly dogs or know anyone who does please let us know!!
