Irony

Francisco had to go to Yuma for work for a couple of weeks. While he's been gone I've been doing some yard work, mowing and trimming the grass and trying to fill in the bare spots. Earlier this evening I finished loosening up the dirt on a bunch of bare spots on the lawn and putting down seed. I was feeling pretty proud of myself for all the hard work I have done out there. Who needs guys right? Then I look up and see a HUGE spider crawling across a web that goes from a tree in my yard over to the side of the house. Seriously one of the biggest spiders I have ever seen in real life. And I am not about to try to knock it down and have it fall on me! I finished cleaning up the back yard and got ready to go inside (with out taking my eye off the spider) and then I saw ANOTHER big, huge, gigantic spider on a web that went between the two trees in the yard. I officially MISS and NEED my husband!! And I will not be going in my back yard until he comes home.

Mini garden

I love that I can have a pot of flowers here that won't fry in the sun, shrivel up and die!
I 've been wanting a garden for a while but we aren't supposed to plant anything in the ground so I decided to make a mini garden. I planted a couple tomato, cucumber, jalapeno, mini watermelon and strawberry plants, and some basil and oregano. Hopefully they will do ok in the small pots.

This is our front patio.
(Thanks to Francisco for painting the pots for me! They were ugly gray before.)

Cuddly

This girl LOVES anything soft and cuddly. I put her on the bed in Isabel's room for a few minutes and she decided to collect every soft thing she could find, teddy bears, pillows and blankets, along with the doggy and kitty she always sleeps with, and then lay down with them.
She was in heaven.

Hungry birds

I hung up a cute little bird feeder a couple days ago.
Above is what it looked like yesterday.
Below is what it looked like today.

And this is one of the little piggy birds ( I know it's tiny, I had to take the pic from inside the house so I wouldn't scare him away!) Please ignore the ugly fly trap, I need to take it down.

Projects

These are a few of the projects Niki and I worked on over the summer....We recovered 6 pillows for the couch, plus these 2 huge floor pillows
Gathered up all the frames and finally got prints for my picture wall (thanks again for the beautiful pics Roxxi!)

Went to every goodwill and salvation army in Yuma to find these cute framed mirrors and then painted them all

Made this cute photo/message board to hang over.....

the desk I found on craigslist and painted white.
Thanks for your help Nic!

Bike ride

Francisco has been talking about buying a trailer and taking Izzy on a bike ride for about two years now and we finally broke down and did it! It was a lot of work adjusting the trailer and squeezing Isabel and all of her stuff in, but it was worth it. We rode around the Mission Bay Park and the weather was awesome, it was even a little chilly! I know everyone back in AZ is mad at us right now!Izzy all bundled up and ready to go. Her long legs barely fit into the little pocket with out touching the tires. That girl has got to stop growing! It was so awesome to see her be able to do something that most people, and even us, might think she wouldn't be able to do.
It was Cori's first bike ride too. She got a little impatient after a while but had fun kicking me, pushing me, lifting up the back of my shirt, and losing her shoes, twice!

Isabel's favorite part was definitely passing me and Cori, she wanted to win!

After the ride, and ready for bed!

Beautiful

Future Marine?

I don't think so. She's not so good at following orders ;)

Dear Aunt KiKi....

We miss you!

This is serious

Me and Iz made these Ming Ming cupcakes (from the wonderpets). I think they turned out pretty good.
Next time we're making Dora!

Beach

Since we're Californians now we figured we had to head out to the beach at least once. And what could be better than chillin' on the beach with a big bag of cheetos? For a one year old, nothing!
Sand monster. She ate almost as much sand as she did cheetos.

Thanks for running down the beach to buy me a big umbrella dad!

Next time she wants to go swimming ;)
Izzy's point of view. That's the Ocean Beach pier in the background.
