Yuma County Fair

A couple weeks ago we went to the fair. The most exciting thing we got to do there was buy a blow up Dora for Izzy and a monkey for Cora!! It was a pretty small fair and since we can't take Iz on any rides and Cori is too small (I did take her on the merry-go-round) and there were no games open we pretty much just walked around. At least it was free!
I guess Cori liked her monkey so much she decided she wanted to look like him because she woke up the next morning like this.......

Easter

This is the best picture I could get of the girls together, they were distracted by Dora:) The Easter bunny brought them their pretty purple dresses.
Easter baskets!!! I think they are pretty cute considering the easter bunny didn't put them together until midnight ;)

Coralie had fun spreading her eggs all over the floor and had even more fun finding M&M's inside!

Outside

Coralie LOVES playing outside!! We try to take her to the park as often as we can but it's not enough for her so we found her a little outside play thing with a swing and slide on it. It is the perfect size for her and she loves it.

And of course while she's outside she has to sample a little dirt :)

She likes her little swing, but she likes real swings even more!

Coincidence?

Ok, take a look at those chubby little knees......... Cori woke up screaming from her nap today so I went upstairs to get her and her leg was stuck in the bars of her crib. Usually she sticks her arms through and they are pretty easy to get out, but today she had her whole leg stuck through past her knee. There was no way that chubby knee was going to go back through the bar. I called Francisco to have him come home from work (only about 1 mile from our house) and tried to calm Cori down with some juice but she was not having it. She was freaking out, her leg was red and getting big indents on it. Then I remembered...... I just bought a little hacksaw about 2 hours earlier for a project I was working on for Isabel!!!!

I ran downstairs to grab it, went back up and sawed one of the crib rails in half and then my poor baby was free from the evil crib! Check out the damage below.

Luckily it was the front panel of the crib and it could be removed to make it into a toddler bed, so that's what we did. I was not prepared for my barely 1 year old to be in a toddler bed but oh well. I guess I have to get used to the fact that she is growing up :(

It took a while for her to fall asleep in her new bed...she screamed for more than a couple minutes. Everytime I went up to check on her she was kneeling right by the edge of the bed and one time she was even leaning over trying to reach her blankie that she dropped on the floor, but she didn't try to get out or fall off and eventually she fell asleep. So thank goodness I just happened to decide to do my project today and buy myself a little tiny saw!! And I guess our next baby (somewhere down the road) will get a brand new crib :)

Rawhide

We went to Rawhide with the Felix family while were up at my mom's house. This is their little daughter, Alexa, who has SMA type 1 like Isabel. She is such a cutie, especially in her cowgirl hat!

Coralie and I went on the little train (she hated it by the way!) and when we got back Isabel and Alexa were both passed out asleep in their strollers. These two are long lost twins!

Jacob and Coralie, she did not like the little mechanical rides either:( She was trying to jump off.

We decided to take Alexa and Isabel out to the van to relax and watch a movie because it was getting a little hot outside. I think this was their favorite part of the trip :)

After Rawhide we all went back to my mom's house to just relax and hang out together, which we haven't really been able to do before outside of the hospital. And this was the first time the girls were able to actually see each other outside of their strollers.

Me and Jaci. We text a lot and chat on the phone sometimes but we were so excited to hang out together. It's so nice to be friends with other parents who know what we are going through with SMA.

The guys, Francisco and Mike. I think they were talking more than Jaci and I :)

We love you guys and can't wait to hang out again soon!

Isabel goes to school!

Me and my big girl. When did she get so big?!? I honestly can't remember, last time I checked she was a baby!

Isabel has been having a preschool teacher come out to our house for about a month now but a couple of weeks ago she was able to actually go to her school and visit the classroom (and I got to go with her of course). Her teacher, Ms. Sara, is so sweet and Isabel just loves seeing her. There are only about 8 other kids in her class and they were so cute. There was a couple of them who kept coming up to say hi to her and they kept calling her a baby because she was in her stroller. There was one little boy that was really worried about her, he kept asking "is the baby going to get hurt, is the baby ok?" it was really sweet. She got to go to the library which of course she loved because she loves books and she also got to music time in the classroom. We are hoping she will be able to go about once a month and I know she is looking forward to it :)
