Fun with Isabel

Isabel had a blast painting in her stander yesterday. She is always so proud of her artwork when she is finished. She will hold onto her pictures for the rest of the day and loves showing them off to daddy when he gets home from work. She is adorable!

I was looking through some old pics the other day and found these two of the girls. Can you guess which one is Isabel and which one is Coralie??

Isabel's new bed

Isabel got a new bed this week. It is great for her because it can sit her up so she doesn't always have to lay flat when she's in bed and great for us because it is higher than her old bed. My back is grateful! She also got a new mattress that moves in patterns to improve her circulation and prevent pressure sores. And I think Isabel's favorite part is the new Dora bedding she got from her Aunt Perla!

Being 1 sure is exhausting!!

Poor girl

One of the bad things about turning 1 is the shots! This poor girl had her finger poked, 3 shots, and blood drawn all with in a couple of hours. Needless to say she was not happy about it!

Thankfully it also wore her out so she fell asleep quickly once we were in the car.

Our little Cowgirl!

Coralie got this little pony for her birthday so her dad decided to make her a little cowgirl hat out of the box it came in. She held onto it like this the whole time she had it on and cried when we took it off of her. She loved it! Unfortunately it was made out of cardboard so it didn't last very long. I will have to find her a real one.

There is currently no treatment and no cure, but the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) have selected SMA as the disease closest to treatment of more than 600 neurological disorders.
Researchers estimate that we are as close as only a few years away from finding a treatment and/or cure.
